Brian Kohlbeck is currently a Sr Finance Director for Best Buy’s $15B West Retail Division. He leads Best Buy’s Finance MBA Recruiting Program and serves as recruiting captain for Finance MBA diversity conference recruiting and for Washington University in St Louis. Brian has over 14 years of corporate finance experience, having served in increasing areas of responsibility at Best Buy, General Mills and Pillsbury, including business team and functional team finance, financial planning and analysis and corporate development. Brian is a veteran of the US Air Force where he served seven years active duty, largely as an Acquisition Program Manager, managing aircraft and missile development programs. He has an MBA (Finance emphasis) from the University of Dayton and a BA (Operations Management) from the University of St Thomas.
Brian was the lead innovator in experimenting with a community social recruiting program at Best Buy focused on Finance MBA recruiting this past year. Brian utilized many social media methods the year of social recruiting experimentation - including webinars, live chats, recruiting blog, videos, etc. Brian’s efforts were recognized as a key note panelist at the Social Recruiting Summit held at Best Buy in Minneapolis in May 2010.
